Dear Mr. Perez:

Enclosed is a copy of Telling It Like A Native, a collection of oral history interviews conducted by MAST Academy students over the last year and a half. Taken together, the stories constitute a panorama of South Florida History -from the early years of this century and the first boom periods of the 1920’s to life in Overtown, Coral Gables, Miami, and Homestead in the fifties, sixties, and seventies.

I am extremely proud of our student’s collective effort. The success of Telling It Like A Native has made me even more committed to providing unique opportunities for student accomplishment. I predict that after flipping through just a few of these pages, you will share my enthusiasm for a job well done.

Sincerely,
